Budi Madani: Restored RON95 quota, higher diesel allocation bring relief to motorists, traders

The Malaysian government's decision to restore assistance quotas under the Budi Madani programme has been welcomed by various sectors of society and traders, as it eases the burden of rising living costs, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Effective immediately, the basic eligibility quota for RON95 petrol subsidies has been increased from 200 litres to 300 litres, while the Budi Diesel quota has been raised from 300 litres to 400 litres.

This adjustment has been perceived positively by beneficiaries, who find it particularly helpful in managing their monthly finances. For instance, private sector worker Furzani Ahmad highlights that the return of the RON95 quota allows him to save on monthly expenses as he travels about 30 km daily for work. Similarly, Darwisy Khairudin appreciates the government's move to restore the Budi 95 quota, noting the convenience it brings when tackling distances between 20 km to 25 km for his commute, sometimes with additional assignments.

Fruit stall operator Abdul Manan, who uses a diesel vehicle for transporting supplies, emphasizes that the increase in the Budi Diesel quota helps in stabilising his daily operating costs, thereby maintaining reasonable fruit prices for customers. The Budi Madani programme is a government initiative aimed at efficiently distributing fuel subsidies.
