Brazil police search Vasco da Gama striker’s home in connection with drugs, arms trafficking probe

Brazilian police conducted a search of the home of David Corrêa, a 30-year-old striker from top-flight club Vasco da Gama, as part of a drugs and arms trafficking investigation, authorities announced on Monday. Corrêa, known to fans as DVD, is a key player for the Vasco da Gama team. A second division player named Hayner Cordeiro is also under investigation.

The operation, dubbed "the troop," aims to collect evidence to dismantle the criminal structure under scrutiny. Vasco da Gama confirmed they are cooperating with the Espirito Santo state police, where Corrêa was born. The striker has played 21 matches for Vasco da Gama this season, scoring three goals, most recently in a 3-1 win against Cruzeiro.
