Opposition Summit: We can repeat what APC did in 2015 – Rep minority caucus

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has urged opposition leaders to unite and work collectively to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections. Fredrick Agbedi, the Minority Leader, made this call at the G100 Summit of Nigeria's opposition political parties held in Abuja. Agbedi emphasized that unity is paramount, stating that if the opposition parties work together, they can repeat the success they had in defeating the former ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in 2015.

The caucus, which does not have a preferred candidate, is focused on building a strong platform to salvage Nigeria, which is enduring significant pain and suffering under the APC government. Agbedi challenged opposition leaders to recognize that unity is key, even if it means accepting that elections might not always result in victory.

He urged politicians to prioritize the broader national interest over personal gains and encouraged political followers to pressure their leaders to actively participate in the unity process. Agbedi warned that divided opposition parties risk wasting their votes and urged the representatives of opposition leaders to communicate the importance of unity to their principals and encourage their active participation.
