UP's Chitrakoot on high alert as Mandakini River overflows; drones deployed

The district administration in Chitrakoot has been placed on high alert due to rising water levels of the Mandakini River, causing a flood-like scenario in several low-lying regions, including Ram Ghat and Nirmohi Akhada. Chitrakoot Police have employed drone cameras to monitor the flood-affected zones, evaluate the ground situation, and track water flow.

Superintendent of Police Shri Arun Kumar Singh directed Chitrakoot Police to conduct surveillance of the flood-affected regions using drone cameras. The District Magistrate (DM) of Chitrakoot confirmed that the situation is being closely monitored and remains under control. The administration has increased precautionary measures, and NDRF and SDRF teams are actively involved in rescue operations.

The DM urged the public to follow the administration's guidelines and avoid approaching the river and ghats. Essential supplies, including food, medicines, and other necessities, are being delivered to those affected or stranded due to the rising water levels. NDRF and SDRF continue to respond to the emergency, ensuring the safety of pilgrims and locals.
