Richarlison, Danso and Sarr ask to leave Spurs

Head coach Roberto de Zerbi revealed that Richarlison, Kevin Danso, and Pape Matar Sarr have all requested to leave Tottenham. The trio were notably absent from the matchday squad as Tottenham suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle. De Zerbi expressed uncertainty about Richarlison's future, as the Brazilian has been linked with transfers multiple times.

Danso approached him two days prior, expressing a desire to leave the club, while Sarr requested to leave as well, despite recovering from a minor injury. De Zerbi emphasized that if the players wish to depart, they must find a financial solution with the club. Despite spending over £300 million this summer, Tottenham remains at the bottom of the table, having lost their first two matches and failing to score.

Richarlison, who was Tottenham's top scorer last season with 11 goals, has been a crucial figure during their challenging season. Earlier in August, Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush joined Spurs on loan, replacing Richarlison in the starting lineup. Danso's chances of playing this season are limited due to the arrival of competitors Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Sunderland had an offer for Danso on loan, but Tottenham declined it. In midfield, Sarr's playing time has been affected by the signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, who bolstered Tottenham's transfer activity with record-breaking deals.
