Parvathy doubles down on Kasaba criticism amid Toxic row: ‘Geetu never endorsed my opinion’

Director Geetu Mohandas and actor Parvathy Thiruvothu have found themselves in a heated debate over the film Toxic, which is based on the alleged misogyny in the 2016 movie Kasaba. During an earlier interview, Parvathy criticized Kasaba for its treatment of women, to which Geetu, seated beside her, encouraged her to openly criticize the film. This exchange sparked a backlash, with Parvathy facing considerable trolling as a result.

Parvathy recently addressed the controversy, stating that her opinion stands by itself and that Geetu Mohandas never endorsed her words. She emphasized that everyone, including Geetu, has the creative freedom to make the films they want. During the interview, Parvathy further explained that the controversy did not cost her any movies and revealed that the Women's Commission had already taken a case against Kasaba for its poor portrayal of women.

She maintained that her statement was her perspective and that Geetu has the freedom to make any movie she desires. Parvathy is currently preparing for the release of her upcoming film, Pradhama Drishtya Kuttakkar.
