New Report: Hegseth’s Own Military Brass Warn the Iran War Is Unsustainable

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's top military brass, including the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, have privately expressed their concerns over the Iran War. In a classified assessment included in the Secretary of Defense Orders Book, they have warned that the conflict is unsustainable and is draining America's capability to defend against threats both abroad and at home.

This assessment, labeled as a "non-concur," came into being due to President Trump's insistence on maintaining all options open, including the possibility of further military action against Iran.

The pressure from the President to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and accept certain U.S. provisions for ending the stalemate has led to the U.S. Central Command keeping over 50,000 troops on high alert. These troops have been in this state for months, ready to respond to any presidential orders for additional attacks or defensive measures.

The constant state of alert has taken a toll on the readiness of the U.S. forces, particularly the Navy, where only a quarter of the destroyer fleet is currently ready for deployment, a significant drop from prewar levels.

When questioned about the situation, the Pentagon declined to comment on the private assessments. As of Day 10 of the Iran conflict, President Trump declared the war "very complete, pretty much." However, six months later, there is still no resolution, no definitive end date, and the war has cost the U.S. approximately $37.5 billion, as revealed in Hegseth's testimony to Congress.

The situation has been marked by fluctuations, from calls for unconditional surrender, to negotiations, to the recent "Operation Economic Outcast", which is a sanctions campaign. This demonstrates the ongoing instability and the toll of the war on U.S. military readiness and resources.
