Kuota subsidi RON95 kembali 300 liter sebulan

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim announced six initiatives to ease the burden on the people during a speech marking Malaysia's 69th Independence Day. The government is restoring the basic eligibility for up to 300 liters of subsidized RON95 petrol per month starting from September 1, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said. This move allows over 16 million users to enjoy subsidized RON95 up to 300 liters per month through BUDI95.

Half a million diesel vehicle owners, including SUV and pickup owners who qualify, will also benefit from Budi Diesel up to 400 liters per month, he added during his speech marking Malaysia's 69th Independence Day. Prior to this, the government temporarily reduced the basic eligibility of BUDI95 from 300 liters to 200 liters per month starting April following uncertainty in fuel supply due to conflicts in the Middle East.

However, the subsidized RON95 price remains at RM1.99 per liter. Apart from fuel subsidies, Anwar announced the funding for school infrastructure to be increased by 50%, from RM1 billion to RM1.5 billion for 2027. This includes schools for national, Chinese, and Tamil ethnicities, religious schools, tahfiz, pondok, and special education institutions.

He also instructed the Ministry of Education to mobilize efforts at the district level and investigate every request for school infrastructure improvements. This aims to ensure the implementation can commence as early as January 2027, he said.
