Kuota subsidi RON95 kembali 300 liter sebulan

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim announced six initiatives to ease the burden on the people during a ceremony marking Malaysia's 69th Independence Day. The government is reinstating the basic subsidy for RON95 petrol from 200 liters to 300 liters per month starting September 1, according to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The move allows over 16 million users to benefit from subsidized RON95 up to 300 liters per month through BUDI95.

Half a million diesel car and motorcycle owners who are eligible will also enjoy Budi Diesel up to 400 liters per month, he announced during his speech on the 69th Independence Day. Previously, the government temporarily reduced the basic subsidy for BUDI95 from 300 liters to 200 liters per month starting April due to uncertainty in oil supply following the conflict in the Middle East.

However, the subsidized price of RON95 remains at RM1.99 per liter. In addition to fuel subsidies, Anwar announced a 50% increase in funding for the construction of all types of schools by 2027, raising the budget from RM1 billion to RM1.5 billion. This funding will cover national, Chinese, and Tamil national schools, religious schools, tahfiz, pondok, and special education institutions.

He also instructed the Ministry of Education to implement the work at the grassroots level and investigate every request for school infrastructure repairs. This ensures that the implementation work can commence as early as January 2027, he stated.
