Iran’s supreme leader calls for unity among Muslim countries

Tehran, Iran - Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, recently urged Muslim countries in the region to unite against the United States and Israel, according to a written message released six months after the beginning of the Middle East war. Khamenei, who has been in power since shortly after his father's death, has not been seen in public since taking office.

In his message, the supreme leader emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among Muslim nations, stating that anyone who fosters division among Muslims or creates conflict in the Muslim community is aiding the enemies of Islam.

Khamenei called on regional rulers to recognize the true enemy (the US and Israel) and confront it, referring to the numerous US military bases across the Middle East that Iran has targeted during the conflict. Relations between Iran and these nations have since deteriorated. In addition to his calls for unity, Khamenei urged Iranian officials and citizens to put aside their differences and work together against the US and Israel.

Expressing concern over the potential impact of the US naval blockade and years of crippling sanctions on the Iranian economy, Khamenei also advocated for the gradual de-dollarisation of the Iranian economy and the boosting of economic production to support growth.
