Fatimah orders agencies to ensure welfare support for family in Sibu child death

Sarawak's Women, Children, and Community Wellbeing Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, has ordered government agencies to ensure welfare support and psychosocial assistance for the family of a five-year-old boy who tragically died in Sibu after being slashed to death last Friday. The incident has deeply saddened and shocked Fatimah, who expressed her condolences to the victim's family, emphasizing that no child should ever be a victim of violence.

She urged the public to refrain from spreading unconfirmed information, pictures, or speculation, as it could add to the family's grief and potentially interfere with the ongoing police investigation. The police have informed Fatimah that a man in his late 40s has been remanded for six days and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
