England clinch series win over Pakistan with thumping 194-run victory in second Test

England sealed a series triumph over Pakistan with a commanding 194-run victory in the second Test at Lord’s on Sunday, despite Saud Shakeel's impressive 97. Pakistan were forced to make 194, having been set an unrealistic target of 389, to secure a series win, giving England an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. This marked England's first multi-match Test series win since a 2-1 success in New Zealand more than a year ago.

Ollie Robinson finished with figures of 4-24 in 14 overs, following his remarkable 4-11 in 13 overs during Pakistan's lowly first-innings of 110 all out. Robinson took two wickets in four balls, leaving Pakistan 7-2, before Jofra Archer dismissed Pakistan captain Babar Azam. Shakeel and Shan Masood put up a tough fight, but Robinson eventually dismissed Masood lbw, and Mohammad Rizwan sealed the win with a lbw call.

Pakistan's innings ended at 169-7, effectively losing the match due to the absence of Imam-ul-Haq, who was sidelined with a calf problem. Tongue then secured the win by dismissing Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Ali, completing a dominant performance. Pakistan had relied on Masood and Azan Awais to handle the new ball on a seam-friendly pitch, but both were dismissed early.
