India defeated Thailand by 94 runs in their opening match of the Women's Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium. Nandini Sharma and Deepti Sharma played stellar bowling performances, taking three wickets each, while Sree Charani's finger spin stifled Thailand's batters. Shafali Verma contributed with a brisk 64 runs. However, Thailand's spinners, led by Suleeporn Laomi, triggered a collapse, restricting India to 159.

India raced to 100 in just 10 overs, but lost wickets at regular intervals due to Laomi's variations. Sunida Chaturongrattana contributed 2 wickets in two balls. Kranti Gaud provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 15, leading India to victory.
