Dutch federation calls for football summit without Infantino

The Dutch football federation (KNVB) has called for a summit on the future of Fifa, without involving president Gianni Infantino. Infantino has faced criticism over his plan, Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE), which aimed to introduce private investment into Fifa events. The KNVB expressed their loss of confidence in Infantino and called for radical changes within Fifa.

The Dutch federation believes the new president should take office in 2027 and that the way Fifa is governed must also change. UEFA has been vocal in its opposition to Infantino, even considering legal action against him for "criminal mismanagement". However, the KNVB emphasized that their proposal for change should be global, not just European.

Their three main priorities for change are good governance with a better balance of power, putting football's social power at the heart of Fifa, and investing more in the sport worldwide. The KNVB criticized Infantino for lacking transparency and making unilateral decisions.

The KNVB hopes to hold an International Summit on the Future of Fifa in Amsterdam, a city with historical significance in Fifa's history. The summit would involve football associations and confederations, with the aim of discussing the future direction of the organization.
