‘Bharat’s destiny is to make world realise unity in diversity’: Bhagwat at New York event

In a recent development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan, as part of his tour encompassing Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. He is scheduled to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. The Prime Minister aims to bolster strategic ties with Central Asia. Upon concluding his two-day stay in Uzbekistan, he will proceed to Kyrgyzstan for further bilateral talks and the SCO Summit.

Bhagwat recognised that India's extensive history of embracing individuals from various religious backgrounds also led to instances of friction.

However, he maintained that politics was not the primary means to unite religious communities. Tragically, social media influencer Manjeet Kaur, who was seven weeks pregnant and a divorcee, was abducted from Chandigarh on July 3, taken to Morinda, assaulted, tied to a mulberry tree, and set ablaze. She perished on August 26 while receiving medical attention.

Following criticism over a Raksha Bandhan-themed advertisement featuring actress Kriti Sanon's attire, the jewellery brand promptly withdrew the promotional material.
