New York: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, speaking at a major gathering in New York, argued that any Hindu believing Muslims should not exist in Bharat would no longer be considered Hindu, emphasizing unity and diversity as the nation's core identity. The remarks were made on August 29 during the 'Universal Oneness Celebration' at Madison Square Garden, organized by the American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD) Forum.

The event attracted thousands of Indian-Americans and members from various faith and community organizations. Bhagwat, speaking about unity in diversity, stated that although different paths may exist, they ultimately converge towards a common goal and that differences should not diminish the unity of humanity. He reiterated that diversity is a natural principle that should be respected and protected rather than seen as a source of division.

Bhagwat also highlighted Bharat's tradition of providing refuge to individuals from diverse faiths and communities. Describing unity in diversity as part of Bharat's DNA, he urged the Indian diaspora to maintain their duties towards their host country and Bharat, while positively contributing to their communities and the broader world.

The event aimed to promote shared heritage, unity, civic responsibility, and global harmony, drawing participants from over 250 Hindu-American organizations.
