Banjir Nepal: Waris mangsa hilang diminta sedia jalani ujian DNA

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested families of missing Malaysians affected by the recent flash floods and landslides in Nepal to participate in DNA testing at the state level, starting from tomorrow. Sivakumar Kalimuthu, 57, whose wife Kalai Mathe Karuppaiah, 57, is still missing, was informed about the need for DNA testing during a ministry briefing at Wisma Putra today.

He explained that police would contact them for the DNA test, and he needed to gather three children for the process. Sivakumar mentioned that his children are currently in Singapore, Kedah, and Selangor, and they remain hopeful that the woman will be found safe. The last communication they had was a call from Kalai Mathe on Monday morning, stating that 17 Malaysian tourists wanted to visit Kailash for prayers, after which there was no further communication.

Earlier, the foreign ministry briefing informed Malaysian families of missing persons to prepare for DNA testing at the state level, starting tomorrow, which will serve as a cross-reference for identity profiling to assist in identifying victims of the incident that occurred last Wednesday.
