Ahafo Wangara Association and Education Fund launched to promote youth education

The Ahafo Wangara Association and Education Fund was officially established in Goaso to bolster the educational prospects of young individuals within the Wangara community of the Ahafo Region. Launched with the motto "Showcasing Culture, Supporting Education and Inspiring the Future," the initiative aims to rally financial and other forms of assistance from individuals, businesses, and organizations to aid Wangara youth in their academic endeavors.

Speaking at the launch, Masaba Yussif Fanyinamah III, President of the Council of Wangara Chiefs in Ghana, emphasized that the association would strive to facilitate enhanced educational opportunities for young community members. He further outlined that the fund would offer aid to deserving students and contribute to their future prospects.

Masaba also announced that the association would host cultural programs and other activities designed to preserve and promote Wangara traditions, with a specific focus on engaging young people, including students, to foster an understanding, appreciation, and preservation of their cultural heritage.

The Chairman of the Ahafo Wangara Association, Ali Baba Mohammed, highlighted the relevance of the initiative, addressing concerns about the educational performance of Wangara youth in the region. Addressing Adom News, he urged parents to become more involved in their children's education and provide essential support to ensure their success.

Nana Afia Serwaa, the Paramount Queen Mother of Goaso, also applauded the association's efforts and suggested that the celebration of Wangara culture should become an annual event. She believed that regular cultural celebrations would offer the younger generation a chance to learn about their heritage and instill pride in their identity.

Nana also proposed that these annual events could serve as fund-raising opportunities to support the education of needy Wangara youth.

Joseph Akparibo, Municipal Chief Executive for Asunafo North, representing the Ahafo Regional Minister, Members of Parliament, and other Municipal and District Chief Executives, applauded the Wangara community for the initiative. He assured the association of governmental support as it pursues its educational and cultural goals.
