In the latest Russian drone attack near Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, at least 37 individuals were reported to have been killed. President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the tragedy on Telegram, stating that significant damage had been caused to surrounding infrastructure, including residential homes, a senior citizens' home, and a disabled facility.

The conflict did not remain contained to Kyiv; multiple casualties were reported in both Odessa, a city under Ukrainian control in southern Ukraine, and the Crimean peninsula, which Russia has annexed. Over 300 emergency responders were deployed in the aftermath of the munitions depot attack in Kiew, with over 40 people injured.

President Zelensky reported that nearly 400 people were rescued. The investigation revealed that a facility located about five kilometers from the city center of Kiew was targeted. Zelensky mentioned that there are regulations against storing munitions near residential areas. He also noted that criminal proceedings have been initiated.

The main route leading westwards from Kyiv was completely blocked in the following night, necessitating a reduction in traffic to one lane on a multi-lane highway for emergency and rescue operations. Videos circulating on social media depict fires and explosions in the evening light. Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Korytskiy pointed to a similar incident in Wyschnewe, a suburb of Kyiv, earlier in July, stating that the same mistakes are being made, amounting to criminal negligence.

Over 300 rescue workers were already in the field by the morning of Saturday, when 14-year-old girl was killed in another drone attack in Boryspil, a district west of Kyiv. Russian military assaults were also reported in Odessa, with one person killed and three injured, as well as five grain transporters destroyed and three more damaged.

All fires were extinguished. The administration of Ismajil district, where the Danube ports of Ukraine are located, had previously warned of impending Russian drone or missile attacks, leading to the damage of transport infrastructure. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the target of the attack on the Danube port of Ismajil was fuel tankers and discharge stations for fuel.

The fluvial ports near the Danube's mouth have become increasingly vital for Ukraine's foreign trade due to repeated Russian attacks on the sea route to Ukrainian Black Sea ports. In the southwestern Russian border region of Belgorod, three more people were reported dead and 14 injured following Ukrainian attacks. Ukrainian forces reportedly utilized drones, rocket launchers, and artillery in these operations.

In the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia had annexed in 2014, at least one person died and three were injured in Ukrainian drone strikes. A total of 26 drones were shot down, with damage to nearly a dozen houses.
