Turkey summons Ukraine envoy over Black Sea ship attacks

Turkey has summoned Ukraine's ambassador to Ankara in response to recent attacks on Turkish ships in the Black Sea by Ukrainian forces, according to a source at the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The ambassador, Nariman Dzhelyal, was informed of the incidents involving the Turkish-owned vessels Lider Bordo Mavi and Lider Kocatepe. The attacks, which occurred on August 26 and 27 respectively, resulted in the deaths of Turkish citizens and injuries to multiple crew members, causing substantial damage to the ships.

Ukraine has intensified its attacks on Turkish commercial vessels traveling to or from Russia, raising concerns about the escalating security crisis in maritime trade routes and logistics corridors. Turkey emphasized the importance of protecting lives, property, navigation, and the environment in the Black Sea, warning of serious consequences if such attacks continue.
