Saudi Arabia and Pakistan affirm strengthening strategic partnership in agriculture and food security

Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in agriculture and food security, as part of their longstanding bilateral relations. The declaration came during a visit by Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadhly, to Pakistan. The visit aimed to explore avenues for collaboration in the agricultural and food sectors, as well as to bolster trade exchange between the two nations.

Al-Fadhly met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, who discussed various aspects of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and food security, including ways to enhance irrigation and water systems efficiency, and potential investment opportunities in the two sectors. Together, they reviewed the strategic plan for agriculture and food security between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, with the involvement of Pakistani ministers of food security, national research, and commerce, as well as representatives from provincial governments and the private sector.

The Saudi minister also attended the Saudi-Pakistani Agricultural Business Forum, where discussions focused on strengthening investment partnerships between the two countries in agriculture and food. The visit underlined the commitment of both nations to expanding their economic and investment cooperation.
