Russian Drone Strikes Kill 1, Injure 3 in Kherson

On the morning of Saturday, Aug. 29, Russian drone attacks targeted the city of Kherson, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to three others. The attack in the Korabelny district claimed the life of a man, while another victim, a 44-year-old man, suffered severe injuries including chest shrapnel and a fractured foot.

A 54-year-old man in the Dniprovsky district was also targeted, sustaining explosive trauma and chest wounds, and was subsequently hospitalized. Additionally, a 57-year-old man near a medical facility in the city center was injured, suffering from both concussion and explosive trauma. These strikes occurred within a 24-hour span of similar attacks across the Kherson region, with Friday's strikes claiming a single life and injuring 26 individuals, including a child.

The attacks on Friday caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, impacting seven apartment buildings, 15 private residences, a cellular tower, a gas pipeline, and multiple vehicles. The death toll from the Friday night explosions has since risen to at least 37, with 42 others injured, including four children. President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for a criminal investigation into the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police for their alleged negligence in the illegal storage of munitions near residential areas, emphasizing the need for strict accountability.
