2027: ‘Nigerians will decide if they want drug lord, liar or democrat as President’ – Dino Melaye

In a recent statement, Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi West and a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress, has posed a significant question to the Nigerian electorate: What kind of President do you desire in 2027? Melaye urged voters to contemplate their preferences, stating that they can choose between a liar, a drug lord, or a genuine democrat for the highest office in the land.

Expressing his concerns over the upcoming election, Melaye highlighted the stark differences between the potential candidates. He questioned whether Nigerians would opt for "a compound liar or a sincere Democrat," "an alleged drug lord and marijuana consumer or a sane politician," or "a tribal jingoist or pan Nigerian?" He further probed if voters would select "an incompetent leader or a leader with tremendous capability," or a "President who is content with seeing you suffer or one who genuinely cares about your well-being."

Melaye also presented the idea of two contrasting leadership styles before the Nigerian public: "A Lebanese-controlled President or a people-controlled President," and "a jet-setting lifestyle President or one who will supervise projects across Nigeria." In conclusion, he implored the electorate to make a decisive choice in 2027, emphasizing that "2027 is the opportunity to decide whether we want light or we want to continue in darkness."
