Pogacar se cae a falta de 32 kilómetros de meta y abandona La Vuelta en la octava etapa

Tadej Pogacar, the current leader in the general classification, abruptly abandoned the La Vuelta en España during the eighth stage, just 32 kilometers from the finish line. Prior to ascending the Puerto de Barx, a segment with no apparent difficulties, the peloton occupied the entire road shoulder. Pogacar, positioned on the left side of his bike, made an unusual rightward movement and collided with another cyclist.

The impact left Pogacar with a dislocated clavicle and a severely bruised left arm; he openly complained about his shoulder. Medical personnel immediately attended to him at the roadside, but despite managing to stand up, Pogacar attempted to mount his bicycle again and decided to withdraw due to the intense pain. The group, which had reduced their pace following the accident, quickly regained their speed upon reaching the mountain pass.
