Pakatan open to Bersatu tie-up for Melaka state election as Amirudin says ‘that is politics’

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) is open to the possibility of partnering with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) in the upcoming Melaka state election, according to Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the coalition's election director. This potential collaboration signals that former political adversaries may find common ground as parties strategize ahead of the polls.

PH emphasized that they would consider cooperation with Bersatu or other parties if necessary, with the aim of ensuring political stability. Amirudin noted that PH had previously cooperated with Umno and Bersatu, and even mentioned PAS's history of working with these parties. He emphasized that these shifting alliances should not be viewed as a sign of political instability, but rather a display of political maturity.

Amirudin, who is also Selangor Menteri Besar, stated that PH is united and prepared to make compromises with other parties, even allowing BN to contest certain seats in Selangor. PH is preparing for various scenarios in Melaka, while maintaining unity within the coalition. Any prospective alliance would have to be based on sincerity and a commitment to preserving the stability and prosperity achieved under the unity government.
