Amirudin tunggu Ab Rauf sedia runding kerjasama politik di Melaka

Pengarah Pilihan Raya Pakatan Harapan (PH) Amirudin Shari is seeking a face-to-face discussion with Barisan Nasional (BN) Melaka Chief Ab Rauf Yusoh to initiate formal joint political cooperation talks in the state, according to the source material. Amirudin has already contacted Ab Rauf, but the latter has stated that the Chief wishes to wait for the fundamental decisions from the top leadership of Umno and BN headquarters before engaging in further discussions.

During a recent press conference, Amirudin emphasized that any political cooperation should be based on sincerity, without any prerequisites that could hinder the conversation process. He cited the PH's spirit of cooperation in Selangor during the last PRN, where they willingly ceded won seats to BN to facilitate the formation of a united government.

He stressed that prior to initiating discussions, there should be no preconditions set. In Selangor, the party transferred the won districts to BN, which Amirudin believes reflects a sense of sincerity and openness to engage in dialogue. In August 25th, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who also leads PH, announced that Amirudin was given the mandate to explore the form of cooperation between PH and BN, including the allocation of seats in the upcoming Melaka PRN.

Melaka has 28 parliamentary seats, with BN winning 21 seats in the last PRN, followed by PH with five seats and Perikatan Nasional with two seats. The term of the Melaka state government ends on January 31st, after which the focus will switch to the next government.
