Orlando Pirates blow away Sekhukhune United to book MTN8 final Spot

Orlando Pirates secured a commanding 3-0 (4-0 on aggregate) victory over Sekhukhune United in the MTN8 semi-final second leg at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. The Buccaneers entered the match with a 1-0 aggregate lead and were greeted by a sunny afternoon at the stadium. Despite their dominance, Pirates scored all three goals during a crucial two-minute period shortly before halftime, solidifying their 3-0 win.

Early in the first half, Sekhukhune nearly scored, with Gamphani Lungu coming close but his header was saved by Sekhukhune goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla. Ntando Selepe also had a chance but saw his effort miss the target. The turning point came in the 37th minute when Yanela Mbuthuma's dynamic run down the left flank provided Thapelo Mokobodi with a chance, resulting in a well-taken corner finish by Lungu.

Kamogelo Sebelebele sealed the deal by adding a third goal, completing a perfect afternoon for the home team. This victory extends Pirates' impressive start to the season, as they are tied atop the Betway Premiership standings with Mamelodi Sundowns on 10 points after four matches. Winning this match, Pirates will next face the winner of Sundowns vs Golden Arrows on Sunday to determine their path to the MTN8 final.
