Missing man found dead in River Ngong in Nairobi

The body of Jayson Takim Maina, a man who had been reported missing, was recovered from River Ngong in Nairobi's Kingston area on Friday. Maina's disappearance was initially reported to the Lungalunga Police Station on August 26, 2026. Police discovered his body floating in the river and notified the public, who retrieved it from the water.

Authorities confirmed the body belonged to Maina, who had been missing for two days prior to the discovery. In another tragic event, police in Nairobi are currently scrutinizing the death of Kennedy Otieno Ogonda, who died after allegedly being attacked by acquaintances in Kariokor several days ago. Ogonda, whose wife resides in Dandora Phase 4, reportedly suffered severe head injuries during the assault, leading to his admission at Brother Andre Hospital in Dandora, later transferred to Kenyatta National Hospital.

His condition worsened, resulting in Ogonda's passing while receiving treatment at the hospital. The assailants responsible for the attack and the motive behind it remain unidentified as of the latest report.
