Kestabilan Malaysia perlu cermin semangat perkongsian, kata Salleh

Bendahari Umno Sabah, Salleh Said Keruak, has stressed the significance of reflecting the spirit of unity among Malaysians, saying that national political stability also needs to acknowledge Malaysia's history, population composition, and political realities in Sabah and Sarawak. He reminded that Sabah and Sarawak are highly diverse societies consisting of various ethnicities, religions, and cultures, and the country's federal politics must be built on mutual understanding, respect, and willingness to accommodate each other.

Keruak pointed out that the 1963 Malaysia Agreement, which established Malaysia, was based on consensus, assurances, and the spirit of cooperation among Malaysia's constituent states. As Malaysia's National Day and Malaysia Day approach on August 31st and September 16th, he reiterated that national leaders must understand and respect the historical foundations of the country. For the people of Sabah and Sarawak, it is equally important to understand and value this history and the spirit of unity that formed Malaysia.
