Jeddah authorities destroy 1.3 tons of used clothing, remove 270 illegal stalls in Al-Khumrah

The Jeddah Municipality has intensified its crackdown on illegal street vendors, targeting unlicensed stalls in the Al-Khumrah district. During a recent field campaign, authorities successfully destroyed over 1.3 tons of used clothing that had been traded illicitly. This initiative is part of a broader effort to curb unauthorized sales sites and ensure compliance with regulations across neighborhoods.

Sub-Municipalities Agency officials reported that field teams meticulously inspected the area and identified and dismantled 270 illegal street stalls. These actions were carried out following the necessary procedures on-site. The campaign also saw the apprehension of violators, with legal measures taken against them by the relevant authorities to prevent their return or relocation within the area.

As part of the enforcement efforts, 11 tons of confiscated items were transported to the landfill. Cleanup operations were conducted to remove waste and restore the site, ensuring the area was returned to a safer and more compliant condition. Jeddah Municipality has pledged to continue its inspection campaigns to monitor illegal sales sites and other unauthorized activities, employing legal measures to enhance the urban environment and promote compliance throughout the governorate.
