I almost threw my stained white sneakers away — then I tried this stain-removal hack

My white sneakers had become yellowed over time due to wear and grime from a recent festival. I initially considered replacing them, but decided to try one last remedy instead. I discovered a simple solution that most people overlook, involving a paste made from baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. This combination is powerful enough to remove oxidation and embedded stains without using harsh chemicals.

To use this method, I mixed baking soda with hydrogen peroxide to create a paste and applied it directly to the yellowed areas of my sneakers. The paste needed to sit for 10-15 minutes before I gently scrubbed it into the fabric using a soft brush in circular motions. After rinsing thoroughly with water, I noticed a dramatic improvement in the appearance of my sneakers.

Additionally, yellowing isn't limited to the main sneaker body. The rubber soles and laces also contribute to the overall appearance. The soles can be cleaned with a Magic Eraser, which works well on stubborn yellowing without damaging the rubber. Laces should be removed and soaked in the same baking soda and hydrogen peroxide solution for 15-20 minutes, then rinsed and air-dried before reattaching to the sneakers. By cleaning the soles and laces, the entire sneaker appears brand new and visually appealing.
