22-Year-Old Woman Drugged, Raped In Bhopal’s Kolar Area, Suspect Held

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: A 22-year-old woman was allegedly drugged, assaulted, and raped inside an under-construction building in the Kolar area on the night of Friday and Saturday. Local residents heard the woman screaming and rushed to the building, finding her partially clothed. She managed to escape and ran onto the road, alerting residents who in turn called the police through a First Response Vehicle.

Upon reaching the spot, police took her to a hospital for a medical examination and registered a case against the suspect under provisions related to rape and assault. The suspect, identified as Satyendra Dhurve, was subsequently arrested. The survivor, originally from Madhya Pradesh’s Dindori district, had been living in Kolar for the past six months, working as a laborer.

She met the suspect, Satyendra Dhurve, on Friday evening at a construction site where she was accompanied by her sister. During an evening dinner with acquaintances, the suspect allegedly offered her a cold drink which made her feel intoxicated soon after consumption. The woman resisted and the suspect subsequently raped and assaulted her.

The woman managed to escape and flagged down residents for help. Kolar police station in-charge Sanjay Soni confirmed that an FIR had been registered and the suspect was arrested after necessary legal formalities. The police have launched further investigations into the case.
