We’re introducing flexible usage limits for Gemini Notebook.

Gemini Notebook is set to introduce flexible, compute-specific usage limits, granting users greater control over their workflow. Despite this change, customers will retain full access to all existing features they have come to rely on. The new system allows users to allocate their limits more selectively and manage tasks more efficiently. A key update is that limits now refresh every five hours, rather than on a daily basis, enabling uninterrupted work throughout the day.

To enhance budget management, the overall usage limit takes into account factors like prompt complexity, chat length, number of sources, and the specific features utilized. Gemini Notebook will aid users in monitoring their usage and proposing alternative outputs if the initial choice exceeds their allocated limit.

In the event of reaching the limit, users can postpone generating outputs such as Video Overviews or Slide Decks, with these tasks generating automatically and users able to set up notifications to be informed of their completion. These enhancements are scheduled to roll out to consumer accounts on both web and mobile platforms starting September 2.
