Gemini Notebook now lets you reference books and turn them into different formats

Google's Gemini Notebook now offers a feature called Expert Intelligence, allowing users to reference and cite information from the digital books they own. This innovative tool enables users to extract knowledge directly from their purchased books in the Google Play Books library, rather than relying on internet sources or other uploaded materials. The feature is currently available in the Gemini Notebook app and web dashboard, with plans to expand to the core Gemini app and AI mode in Search.

Expert Intelligence lets users create Infographics, Audio Overviews, and Quizzes using the information from their books. For instance, if someone asks Gemini to develop a meal plan featuring only chicken and spinach, the AI can search for relevant recipes in books authored by experts like Martha Stewart. These books will be turned into various formats, with over 100,000 titles available, including publications from major publishers like Bloomsbury, De Gruyter Brill, Johns Hopkins University Press, Macmillan Publishers, O’Reilly Media, and Penguin Random House.

Notable authors have also contributed Featured Notebooks, providing additional insights beyond their books. However, users must remember that shared Gemini notebooks require each participant to own or purchase the referenced book to utilize Expert Intelligence effectively. Google aims to streamline trip planning by integrating flight price monitoring, rewards point comparison, and hotel bookings within a single conversation.

In addition to the Expert Intelligence feature, Google has introduced three travel-related capabilities within AI Mode, enabling users to track flight prices, evaluate rewards points against cash, and book hotel rooms without switching between applications. Meanwhile, Lenovo is showcasing two innovative devices at Lenovo Innovation World 2026, including a compact mini PC resembling the Mac mini and a ThinkBook with potentially record-setting thinness.
