The spinoff will introduce a group of passengers who crash-land in Denver, only to discover they have no memories of their past or why they are there. A young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent will join forces with the newcomers to prevent a potential global catastrophe. As Netflix explains, "Together we’ve set out to create something bold, surprising, deeply human, and full of the kind of big ideas that spark conversations long after the credits roll."

This announcement marks a significant victory for the underdog series, which was picked up for a fourth and final season by Netflix after being canceled by NBC in 2021. With 130 million views and its fourth season spending nine weeks on the Global Top 10 English TV list, Manifest has proven its worth to the streaming giant. It is likely that the "world" of Manifest will expand further, beyond the confines of the series' original Boeing 737.

Netflix's vision for the spinoff involves creating a larger-than-life experience, perhaps even featuring an Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft, allowing for an even bigger cast of characters.
