‘Manifest’ Spinoff ‘Arrivals’ Coming to Netflix

Netflix is expanding the "Manifest" universe once again with a new spinoff series titled "Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery." The show, set to debut on the platform, will feature a new cast of characters and a fresh storyline. The announcement of the series came on Friday, August 28, and was made by the original "Manifest" team.

The creators of "Arrivals" are former "Manifest" co-executive producers Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, who will serve as co-creators and co-showrunners. This collaboration also reunites the series' creator and showrunner, Jeff Rake, with Easley and Putney in their new roles.

"Arrivals" centers around a mysterious plane that crash-lands in Denver, with the passengers having no recollection of their identities, origins, or purpose. The series follows a young social worker and a novice Homeland Security agent as they partner with the "arrivals" to prevent a potential global catastrophe. However, as they delve deeper into the mystery, they discover they are integral pieces of the puzzle they seek to unravel.

Jinny Howe, head of scripted series in the U.S. and Canada at Netflix, expressed excitement about bringing the "Manifest" universe to life with "Arrivals." She emphasized how the new series honors the original's success while offering a unique perspective to fans worldwide.

In expressing their thoughts, the original "Manifest" showrunners, Jeff Rake, Margaret Easley, and Laura Putney, shared their delight at expanding the franchise. They described the opportunity as a dream come true, highlighting Easley and Putney's significant contributions to "Manifest."

Additional executive producers for "Arrivals" include Robert Zemeckis ("Forrest Gump," "Back to the Future") and Jack Rapke ("Manifest," "Cast Away") from Compari Entertainment, as well as Len Goldstein ("Manifest," "Hart of Dixie") of Tall Baby Productions. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

"Manifest" originally aired on NBC for three seasons before transferring to Netflix for its fourth and final season. Since becoming available on Netflix in mid-2023, all four seasons have garnered over 130 million views. Season 4 held the Global Top 10 English TV spot on Netflix for nine weeks and topped the list in over 90 countries.
