Ruling party pledges close coordination with gov't on key policy tasks

The ruling Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) pledged close cooperation with the government and the presidential office on key policy initiatives, as it prepares for the upcoming parliamentary session. Upon electing Kim Min-seok, a former prime minister and President Lee Jae Myung's confidant, as their leader, the party adopted a resolution during a lawmaker workshop in Incheon, just west of Seoul.

According to their resolution, the DPK intends to swiftly pass bills addressing livelihood matters, the budget, judicial, and election system reforms. These measures aim to bring about substantial reforms benefiting the people's well-being, according to the lawmakers. Furthermore, the party committed to supporting the government's three megaprojects, which focus on boosting the AI industry and related fields, such as physical AI.

The DPK emphasized their unity with the government and the presidential office, vowing to dedicate their full efforts to passing legislation on crucial national policy tasks and delivering the promised "great leap forward" for South Korea to its citizens.
