RM47.13m allocated for BKJ Phase 4 appeals, to be disbursed late September

Johor's government has granted an extra RM47.13 million to support appeals under the Bantuan Kasih Johor (BKJ) Phase 4 scheme, set to be handed out from late September. Johor's Chief Minister Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced the allocation, explaining it followed feedback received from residents during the execution of BKJ Phase 4.

Each appeal was reviewed to ensure those who met the eligibility criteria were given an opportunity to receive the support and were not overlooked, he stated. The additional fund covers 21 categories of beneficiaries, such as senior citizens, homemakers, newlyweds, hawker and small trader owners, disabled individuals, orphans, low-income families, community organizers, personnel, and volunteers.

Onn Hafiz mentioned the state's enhancing financial situation has enabled the government to allocate more benefits to the people. Despite acknowledging there is still much work to be done, he reiterated the government's commitment to improving initiatives and expanding support to ensure more Johoreans benefit from the state's progress and prosperity. BKJ is the state government's social assistance program designed to alleviate the cost-of-living burden and bolster the social safety net for eligible residents.
