Right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos detained by ICE

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended British political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, a staunch advocate of former US President Donald Trump, according to ICE's records. The 41-year-old, a former editor of the right-wing US website Breitbart and a former employee of rapper Kanye West, is currently held in Louisiana, as indicated by a search of ICE's inmate registry.

Describing himself as "the most fabulous supervillain on the internet," Yiannopoulos is often labeled as a purveyor of hate speech by his critics. Neither ICE nor Yiannopoulos have commented on the matter, but his name and British origins were found in a search of detainees across the country. Born in Kent, England, Yiannopoulos currently resides in the United States.

The details surrounding his detention remain unclear. Initially a supporter of Trump during the 2016 election, Yiannopoulos headlined "Gays for Trump" at the Republican National Convention that year and has since advocated for stricter immigration policies in the US. Despite his own identification as gay, Yiannopoulos has faced criticism for his controversial remarks about transgender individuals, Muslims, Black Lives Matter activists, feminists, and gay people.

He now identifies as "ex-gay." Yiannopoulos has penned articles such as "Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive" and "Would You Rather Your Child Had Feminism or Cancer?"
