Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right political commentator, reportedly detained by ICE

Former Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right British political commentator, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Louisiana, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). A DHS spokesperson announced that Yiannopoulos was arrested on Thursday at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY).

The spokesperson stated that Yiannopoulos legally entered the United States in May 2019, but he "chose to overstay his welcome in violation of our nation's laws." An immigration judge issued Yiannopoulos a final order of removal on July 22 after he failed to attend his immigration hearing. He will remain in ICE custody until his removal.

The spokesperson added that Yiannopoulos is being held in ICE custody pending his removal. As of Friday afternoon, Yiannopoulos is listed in ICE's online detainee database as being in ICE custody, but no additional details about his location are provided. Yiannopoulos, born in the United Kingdom, previously worked as an intern for Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former US representative, in 2022, and also supported Ye's 2024 White House campaign.

His reason for being in Louisiana is unclear, though Ye is set to perform in New Orleans on Friday night. In June 2025, Yiannopoulos had expressed support for immigration enforcement in the US, suggesting ICE checkpoints at various locations for the immediate deportation of undocumented individuals. Far-right activist Laura Loomer, an ally of Donald Trump, claimed responsibility for Yiannopoulos's detention and alleged that she had reported him to ICE.
