Pekan Bukit Sentosa's Ramadan bazaar in Hulu Selangor witnessed a dramatic incident in May 2020, as a truck driver, Kang Ming Han, was jailed for 10 years for allegedly attempting to murder three individuals after plowing into them with his truck. The Kuala Kubu Baharu Sessions Court sentenced Kang after finding him guilty of three counts of attempted murder under Section 307 of the Penal Code.

He was also fined RM15,000 or 18 months in jail if he failed to pay the fine. Kang was charged with two counts of causing injury to Farina Hazlin Shaiful Azmi and Yusanisah Jais while driving under the influence of alcohol under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act. For each charge, he received a 7-year prison sentence and a RM20,000 fine or an additional year in jail if he failed to pay the fine.

He was also fined RM500 for uttering vulgar words to police officer Shahidan Abdul Khalil. The judge ordered all prison sentences to be served concurrently, meaning Kang only had to serve a 10-year prison term. According to the facts of the case, Kang was involved in a dispute with several individuals in the market area after honking his horn while stuck in traffic congestion.

In his statement, Kang claimed that unknown individuals and his passengers had attacked him and his passengers by breaking his car's side mirror. He then went to Bukit Sentosa Police Station, but the officer on duty claimed that Kang acted aggressively and refused to submit a report of the alleged assault, asking for "everyone to be trampled in Bukit Sentosa because you refuse to accept my report".

The court then heard from Norisham, Baharum, and Mahadin about how they were knocked out by Kang's truck at the mentioned bazaar. All three suffered injuries to their bodies, arms, and legs. Kang's truck also collided with Farina's four-wheeler vehicle, causing her and Yusanisah, who were passengers, to be injured. The incident ended when Kang ran back to the police station after being chased by a group of people before being arrested.

In his defense, Kang claimed that the initial police officer on duty refused to accept his report of the alleged attack and that he denied uttering vulgar words. He also denied returning to the market area to see if the attacking individuals were still present, claiming he was merely "giddy" by Farina's vehicle accidentally. The judge stated that Kang failed to raise reasonable doubt regarding all charges and referred to his intent to cause injury.

"He cannot use self-defense as an excuse when he returned to the market a second time to look for the alleged attackers," she said.
