Nepal floods: Wife flies to Kathmandu to search for missing firefighter

Hani Othman, the wife of a reported missing Fire and Rescue Department Special Air Unit officer in Nepal, flew to Kathmandu today to gather updates on the search efforts. Determined to stay informed, she chose to travel alone rather than remain at home, stating, "I decided to take the initiative myself to get an update because I cannot simply stay at home and cry.

Another Malaysian, M Vasanthi, whose sister M Venilla was also traveling to Mount Kailash in Tibet when the incident occurred, expressed her hope that her sister would be found safe.

Vasanthi, whose sister's children are struggling emotionally, has decided to stay with them in Puchong. The Foreign Ministry reported that 57 Malaysians remain uncontactable following the major floods in Nepal.
