Kedah teacher transferred pending probe into Year Four pupil’s death after sports activity

In Kedah, a teacher involved in the death of an 11-year-old girl during a sports activity is set to be transferred pending the outcome of an investigation, reported the Kedah Education Department. The girl, suffering from a heart condition since childhood, allegedly participated in a running race for the school's sports teams, despite having submitted a medical letter confirming her condition.

Following the incident, the girl fell ill, was bedridden for four months, and passed away on August 24. The Kedah JPN spokesman stated that the teacher was transferred to another school as part of an early intervention, and the case has been referred to the Integrity Unit of the Education Ministry for further action. The public is urged not to speculate about the case and allows the JPN and the MOE to conduct a thorough investigation.
