Bezzecchi edges Marquez brothers in blazing Spanish MotoGP practice

Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing held off a close battle between brothers Alex and Marc Marquez during a recent practice session for the Spanish MotoGP at Alacaniz in Aragon. The trio's times were separated by just 0.038 seconds, marking the closest top-three finish in a Friday session. Reigning champion Marc Marquez led the morning session and set a personal best with a time of 1 minute and 45.493 seconds.

Bezzecchi matched the record in a fiery conclusion, followed closely by Alex Marquez, who was just 10 thousandths of a second behind. Bezzecchi, who began the season with three consecutive victories, is still recovering from crashes sustained in a July race in Germany. He reported pain in his left shoulder, knee, and body, expressing concern about the length of the weekend.

Marc Marquez acknowledged the competitiveness of the session, noting that the pace was extremely high and predicting a challenging race ahead. Italian rider Fabio Di Giannantonio rounded out the top four on a Ducati-VR46, with four Spanish riders completing the top ten.
