Volleyball: RCW Jaguars set for a standout season

Renville County West's volleyball squad, known as the RCW Jaguars, is poised for a successful season ahead. Having finished the 2025 campaign with a 7-4 record in the Camden Conference and an overall 17-9 tally, the team returns a strong core of players.

Despite the graduation of two-time All-Camden honoree Holly Hinderks, the Jaguars boast seven returning players who were integral to last season's efforts. Additionally, six seniors have emerged as leaders, promising to bolster the team's performance.

Coach Rich Schrupp emphasized the team's focus on both offensive and defensive prowess. Senior Ella Ridl, who returns as the backrow anchor, showcased her talent last season with 418 digs, 62 set assists, and 27 ace serves. The team also has three experienced outside hitters—Mackenna Hinderks, Vivia Hebrink, and Scarlett Johnson—ready to make an impact in the attack. Supported by a setter in senior Vivia Hebrink, the Jaguars demonstrate a diverse set of skills.

Sophomore Ibis Terrones, who recorded 374 setting assists last year, will guide the attackers with his precision. The middle blockers, Anna Roxberg and Maggie Rice, are also returning, adding further strength to the team's defensive capabilities. Schrupp highlighted the importance of a balanced approach, with a strong emphasis on defense and serve receive.
