UP Sends SDRF, PAC Teams To Nepal For Rescue Of Stranded Citizens

Lucknow, August 27: In response to the floods and natural disaster in Nepal, the Uttar Pradesh Government has taken charge, following the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, to safeguard the state's citizens. Relief and rescue teams, along with essential resources, have been activated to evacuate Uttar Pradesh residents stranded in Nepal and offer immediate aid. The Control Room of the Relief Commissioner's Office is continuously monitoring the situation in the districts that border Nepal.

The Yogi Government has deployed a single platoon of SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) for the relief and rescue operation in Nepal. This platoon consists of 32 personnel. Additionally, 22 personnel from the 26th Battalion of PAC (Paramilitary Forces) have also been sent to Nepal. The government is prepared to deploy extra forces and resources as needed, ensuring no shortage in delivering relief to the affected individuals.

To enhance the effectiveness of the rescue operation in flood-affected areas, four rubber boats are already stationed at the site. An aluminum boat will be transported to Nepal alongside another SDRF platoon. Preparations for relief and rescue operations are underway in the Sindhuriya area. The UP government's primary focus is on safely evacuating stranded citizens and ensuring that immediate assistance reaches those in need.
