Two teenagers, 13 and 14, among 33 UK nationals missing in Nepal floods

Thirty-three British nationals, including a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, are among the missing following flash floods near the Nepal-Tibet border. The death toll has risen to 359, with over 1,300 people reported missing. The UK government has offered £5m to aid the Nepalese government in their response to the disaster.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham expressed his condolences, stating that the situation was "very distressing and devastating." The Nepalese King and Queen also sent their "most profound sympathy" to the affected individuals. The British Foreign Office is working closely with Nepalese authorities and urging Britons to follow local guidance.

One excursion company, Alpine Eco Trek, confirmed they could not establish contact with a group of 12 Britons who were on a tour to Mount Kailash when the floods struck. The missing individuals ranged in age from 13 to 65, with the youngest being a 13-year-old girl. The company's Nepali tour guides are also among the missing. Other tour companies, such as the Trekkers' Society and Himalayan Glacier US, have also reported missing British tourists.
