Saalim Bamba files nomination to contest NPP National Nasara organiser position

Saalim Bamba, a hopeful candidate for the New Patriotic Party's National Nasara Organiser position, has submitted his nomination for the party's forthcoming national executive polls. Bamba aims to recapture the NPP's lost votes in predominantly Muslim regions during the 2024 general elections and bolster the party's presence in Zongos and other inner-city districts.

Additionally, he intends to forge unity among the party's grassroots in these communities and render the NPP more appealing to first-time voters. After filing his nomination on Wednesday, Bamba highlighted that all 15 regional Nasara Organisers have given their endorsement to his candidacy, vowing to collaborate in mobilizing the party's grassroots in Zongos and urban areas.

He explained that this united effort will focus on strengthening the party's support base and aiding the NPP in regaining power from the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC). Bamba is familiar with the responsibilities of the Nasara Organiser position and is confident in fulfilling his duties should he be chosen by the delegates.

Speaking at the filing event, Eastern Regional Nasara Organiser Hussein Fadilu Fafana acknowledged Bamba as the ideal person to steer the Nasara wing during a "challenging crossroads." Bamba, who has previously held various positions within the NPP, has assembled a committed team with a proven history to support his campaign and ultimately assist in bringing the party back to power.

This team will work alongside regional Nasara Organisers to garner support across Zongos and other urban communities as the NPP prepares for the upcoming general election.
