Arab Group at UN condemns Israeli Occupation's illegal settlement expansion policies across occupied Palestine

The Group of Arab States at the United Nations has condemned the illegal settlement expansion policies carried out by the Israeli occupation across the occupied Palestinian territories, as well as the E1 settlement plan and related activities in East Jerusalem. The group argues that these actions violate international law, UN Resolution 2334, and the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion.

Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN, Sheikh Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, delivered the Arab Group's speech during the UN Security Council's monthly briefing meeting. She emphasized that the Palestinian question is central to peace in West Asia and that a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace cannot be achieved without ending the Israeli occupation and allowing the Palestinian people to exercise their rights, including self-determination and an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Arab Group also condemns the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation in the occupied West Bank, including the targeting of civilians, land confiscation, house demolitions, forced displacement, and colonist terrorism. They further reject any measures that attempt to reinforce the occupation or assert Israeli sovereignty over any part of the occupied territories, deeming them invalid and in clear violation of international law and relevant UNSC resolutions, particularly Resolution 2334.

Relations between the Arab Group and UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, are also highlighted, with the group urging the international community to support the agency to fulfill its mandate.
