Alleged Cocaine Offences: Court grants 30-day extension of KC Luxury’s detention

The Telangana High Court has upheld the detention of Muddangula Aditya under the Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act-1986 for supplying fake insecticides. Aditya's wife, Anuradha, had challenged the detention through a writ petition, arguing that none of the four cases against her husband satisfied the requirements of section 2(a) of the PD Act.

The court dismissed the petition, observing that there was no reason to disagree with the detention order. The bench noted that the sale of spurious or misbranded insecticides or seeds could drive agriculturists to poverty and adversely impact agricultural production. The court emphasized the wider social implications of such activities and the importance of preventing them.
